Description: Dam Fundo El Raulí Dams and reservoirs The “Dam, Fundo El Raulí” Project, which is submitted to the Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA), hereinafter “the Project”, is located in the Purranque commune, Los Lagos Region, and consists of the construction and operation of a dam, through the construction of a retaining wall, which will act as a barrier before the passage of the Estero Sin Nombre, which is born in the Fundo El Raulí, thus achieving the accumulation of water of the same estuary, added to this the accumulation of the waters product of the runoff of pluvial origin of a total contributing area of 380 ha. As a result of the construction of the retaining wall and the consequent accumulation of water, a total area of 42.23 ha will be flooded, accumulating a volume of water of 2,238,790 m3, which will be used to irrigate meadows for animal feed. The main contribution of water that will accumulate in the dam will be during the winter due to increased rainfall. For the filling of the dam, the accumulation of rainwater from the basin is contemplated and, in addition, there are duly constituted water rights over the estuary s/nombre (Annex I). The Project will have a construction period of six months, and will have an indefinite useful life, that is, it does not include a closing phase. It is worth mentioning that the flooded area is entirely within the property of Fundo El Raulí. The retaining wall to be built will correspond to a dam 19 meters high, with a crest width of 7 meters. The Project's main objective is to ensure water certainty through the construction of a water accumulation dam to irrigate meadows for animal feed, which will have a capacity of 2,238,790 m3.
