Hydraulic fracture in formation The waterfall Jauke x-1

Description: Since 2006, GeoPark has been developing exploration and exploitation activities in the Fell Block, which has allowed the company to drill different wells and project the drilling of new wells in the sector. It is worth mentioning that, with the definition and design of the specific programs for each of the wells, the exploitation activities begin. The foregoing allows obtaining data and relevant information of the reservoir that is intended to be drilled, as well as its potential, in order to preliminary estimate whether its development will be technically and economically viable. Subsequently, within the drilling stage are the completion activities, where the reservoir communicates with the surface, at which time the GeoPark technical professionals will be able to verify whether or not the hydrocarbon flow is expected, all of which will condition the well productivity in case of being low or very low. Sometimes, the decrease in flows is related to the blockage of small conduits through which the hydrocarbon would travel from the reservoir to the well, when this situation occurs, the production of the well becomes technically and economically unfeasible. It is worth mentioning that the Jauke x-1 well has 3 formations of interest (El Salto, Springhill and El Salto). And that by drilling this well, the basal levels of the Springhill formation (main activity) will be investigated, as well as evaluate the potential producer of the possible reservoir of the Salto. In principle, given the stratigraphic scheme of the basin, the deepest formation will be evaluated (Tobífera Series). The drilling program plans to perform the evaluation of the reservoir by means of electrical profiles and a well test, where depending on the result, it is considered to evaluate the productivity of the reservoir by means of hydraulic stimulation. The result of the aforementioned is independent of the original drilling program, which is defined and supports the investment of the project, which is to evaluate and, if successful, put into production the primary objective in the Springhill training. Given the multi-objective exploratory nature of the Jauke x-1 well, it is planned to use a complementary tool (DV Tool) in the area of the Salto formation that allows an auxiliary cementation to be able to puncture, test and stimulate, if necessary , the sandy levels of this formation. To carry out in a short time the puncture, test and stimulation of the Salto reservoir, it must be reliably verified by the holder, that the potential of the aforementioned objectives (Tobifer and Springhill Series) is very low to zero. It is important to mention that the hydraulic fracture of the Jauke x-1 well, in the Springhill formation is under evaluation (Admissibility Resolution No. 140/2017), and that, according to the above, the present project will culminate the drilling activities of the Jauke x-1 well, if necessary, where it is planned to stimulate the El Salto formation. In addition, this well has not yet begun drilling. However, if during the development of this, it is found that the hydrocarbon flow is not as expected and that the well has the necessary characteristics, stimulation will be carried out in this formation. The project consists of 3 phases, the first corresponds to the design and assembly phase, in which the well is defined and subsequently the necessary equipment is mounted in its locations, to move to the second phase, which corresponds to the operation, where the well is stimulated and finally, the third one, which corresponds to the disassembly.
