The plant will have a design flow of 38 m³/s captured from the San Juan river through a lateral intake. From there, the water is conveyed as free flow through an intake tunnel to a desander and surge tank, from where the pressurized conveyance begins: a first section in a tunnel along the right bank of the river, a second section in a tunnel along the left bank, and finally a pipeline that reaches the steel distributor, connected to the powerhouse and its generating units.
