Description: The silver-gold mine Manantial Espejo is operated by Minera Tritón, subsidiary of Pan American Silver. It is in operation since 2009, but its history begins in the 1970s with the first explorations by the Government of Argentina. Manantial Espejo's mineral reserves reach 5.2Mt, with 127 grams of silver per tonne and 2.05 grams of gold per tonne. In terms of mineral resources, results vary from 81g/t to 119g/t of silver, and from 0.99g/t to 1.43g/t of gold. Annual mine production in 2009 was 3.8 million ounces of silver and 72,000 ounces of gold. The mine has four main veins called Maria, Karina/Union, Melissa, and Concepción.
