To the south it will reach Luján de Cuyo, and to the north, to El Plumerillo Airport. The project consists of two stages: an extension to the south, with the construction of a 16 km branch to Luján de Cuyo, and another 6 km extension to the north, to the El Plumerillo International Airport. The branch to Luján de Cuyo will be detached from the already operational line of the Metrotranvía at the Pellegrini hostel, taking advantage of an inactive strip of old railway land that was kept free of intrusions thanks to the construction of a bicycle path. The bike path will be preserved, although it will have to be modified to allow coexistence with the tram. This branch consists of two substages. The first, between the Pellegrini Parador and the Benegas station (Parque Benegas), which will have six stations and a double track along its entire length. The second substage goes between the Benegas station and the Luján de Cuyo station (Parque Ferri), with 11 stations and combining single track and double track sections. The extension to the airport will follow the active route of the San Martín Railroad, detaching from it shortly before reaching the airport. The route will have four stations: Rawson Parador, Espejo station, Newbery and Aeropuerto, which will have direct access to the air terminal.
