Nora Plant Project Optimization

Description: Given the depletion of the Trinidad Project deposit, Puma Mine, which has completed closure measures, SCM Berta contemplates modifying the original project to a purchasing power of copper minerals and machining minerals from third parties, in order to provide operational continuity to its facilities, becoming an alternative for the sale of mineral from local small and medium-sized mining companies. The Project considers the treatment of 65,000 tons per month of copper ore, which will be acquired by SCM Berta from local producers (third parties), for the production of 4,800 tons per year of high purity cathodes. It is important to note that SCM Berta could consider in the future the benefit of minerals from its own deposits, for which a mining project would be defined that would be previously presented to the authority for submission to environmental evaluation. Objective This Project aims to provide operational continuity to the leaching, solvent extraction and electrowinning process plant (Nora Plant) of the Trinidad Project (RCA N ° 238/2008), directing its source of supply of copper minerals to producers local miners, thereby contributing to the generation of labor in the Diego de Almagro commune. On the other hand, the Project considers increasing the treatment of copper ore to 65,000 tons per month, maintaining the annual production of 4,800 tons of high purity cathodes from the Trinidad Project.
