It is approximately 3,660 meters above sea level and is 265km from the city of Salta and about 108km to San Antonio de los Cobres. The Salar is an evaporite basin with demonstrated brine in the subsurface that contains lithium. Salar de Pocitos is in the Central Andes of Argentina and within the Lithium Triangle of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.
