Description: Tenardita Mine Exploitation Plan Update Mining development projects over 5,000 tons / month The Project under evaluation consists of updating the Tenardita Mine Exploitation Plan, considering extending the currently authorized useful life for the mine by 13 years, with a annual rate of exploitation and processing of salt of 4.8 million tons. The modifications that the Project introduces to CMC's current operation are mainly associated with activities related to mineral exploitation, the operation of the crushing plant and the transportation of salt in trucks. The parts, actions and physical works related to the shipment in port are outside the scope of the Project, maintaining the current conditions. In this way, the changes regarding the parts, actions and physical works of the current operation correspond to the following: - Exploitation: Expansion of the environmentally approved surface of the open pit by approximately 21 ha, mainly towards the west. . This extension will be carried out within the Tenardita 1/30 (1-4) and Lorena 14 mining properties, which cover a total area of 257 ha. The exploitation, in terms of equipment, supplies and extraction process, will not be modified with respect to the current operation, which since 2019 has implemented a reduction in the explosive charge in blasting during the period between November and May, as a measure to avoid effects on bird nesting sites. - Crushing: The material processed in the Crushing Plant will be increased, however this will not undergo modifications, since it is designed to process 700 t / hour of mineral, which is equivalent to 6.1 million tons per year, considering 365 days of operation and 24 hours a day. - Transportation: The transportation of salt from the site to the port or to the collection site will be carried out with a fleet made up of 60 trucks of 30 tons capacity. The transit of these trucks will continue to be carried out on the authorized routes used by the current operation, but increasing the number of trips, according to the detail presented in Table 1-19. The general objective of the Project is to increase the exploitation, processing, transportation and storage of salt, in order to give CMC's operation greater flexibility to meet specific increases in the demand for Salt, and to extend the operation of the site.
