Mexico continues to face uncertainty in the mining sector because the courts are still reviewing key points of the 2023 mining reform and the rules for granting new concessions remain pending. Santiago Suárez, partner at Servicios Legales Mineros (SLM), told BNamericas that the sector expects an amendment to the Mining Law first, before moving forward with the regulations, although there is still no official announcement in this regard.
