Unión Eólica Panameña (UEP), the Panamanian subsidiary of Spain's Unión Eólica Española, is engaged in the development, construction and operation of wind projects. The company is planning to build as much as 350MW of wind farms in Panama. In 2012, it was awarded the definitive concession for wind project La Rosa de los Vientos (102MW). UEP already holds definitive generation licenses for wind farms Nuevo Chagres (169MW), Marañón (18MW) and Portobelo (48MW), and is in the process of securing a definitive wind generation license for Cerro Azul (40.8MW). UEP was founded in 2006 and is based in Panama City, Panama.
