Taiwanese firm Sinotec Engineering Consultants will submit on February 27 the final draft offer to Honduras' government for the Patuca III hydro project, a project official from the Central American country's state power company Enee told BNamericas.
Sinotec is preparing the offer on behalf of Taiwan Power, which would build the project.
The initial offer exceeded Enee's cost requirements due to increased indemnity costs from higher-than-planned flooding, the official said.
According to preliminary information, the 100MW project would be built on the Patuca river in Olancho department with construction slated to take 4-7 years at an estimated cost of US$150mn.
Enee expects Patuca's environmental impact studies to be ready by mid-year.
The aim is to start construction in 2009, the official added.
