Brazilian telecoms regulator Anatel expects to hold two public hearings on a proposal to sell Wimax licenses, Anatel said in a statement.
The hearings will take place in capital Brasília on June 9 and in São Paulo on June 16, Anatel said.
The watchdog will offer 3.5 GHz broadband spectrum for companies willing to offer Wimax, as well as mobile and fixed-line telephony services. It expects the licensing auction to take place later this year.
Anatel first tried to sell such licenses in 2006, but the process was halted by the country's federal audit court, according to previous press reports.
