Mexico's Oaxaca state government has invested 5.01bn pesos (US$358mn) in infrastructure works during 2011, according to a release.
Some 539mn pesos was spent on 795 projects that were left unfinished after the previous administration left office in 2010, while basic infrastructure works received 2.9bn pesos.
Work to repair damage caused by floods in 2010 cost 3.6bn pesos, which went toward 245 road projects as well as 188 water initiatives carried out by the state water commission.
Some 93% of works contracts were awarded to local companies, the release said.
