Denver-based Solitario Exploration & Royalty said it hired SRK Consulting to finish a preliminary economic assessment at its Bongará zinc project in Amazonas, Peru.

The PEA is scheduled for completion in the second quarter, according to a statement. Bongará, where 117,280m has been drilled to date in 486 drill holes, is a JV with local miner Milpo.

Toronto's Rio Silver said it acquired an additional concession near its Niñobamba silver-gold project in Ayacucho, Peru.

The Peruvian government is expected to grant the title to the 553ha concession in the first half of the year, the company said. Rio Silver is compiling historic exploration data in preparation for future exploration work at Niñobamba, a JV with Nevada-based miner Magellan Gold.


Vancouver-based Amarillo Gold said it began work on an updated prefeasibility study for its Mara Rosa gold project in Goiás, Brazil.

SRK Consulting is expected to complete the study on the 2,600ha property's Posse target in the first quarter, the company said in a statement. The study for a 2.5Mt/y gold plant will be based on a price of US$1,200/oz, it said.


Utah miner Inception Mining disclosed exploration details at its Clavo Rico gold project in Choluteca, Honduras.

Work has been completed on a 12th drill hole at the property, with highlights of 50m of 1.55g/t gold, according to a statement.
