A fuel plant that will be installed at Chile's state oil company Enap's RPC refinery at Quinteros, on the coast of Region V, arrived at port yesterday from Spain, newspaper El Mercurio de Valparaiso reported.
The plant will produce DIPE, an oxygenated compound used to improve gasoline quality, and catalytic propane gas - the basic element for the production of liquefied gas.
Purchase and installation of the plant will cost US$35mn, and Germany's Ferrostaal started construction work in May this year. The project is the first time that RPC has worked with private sector partners, and is being developed by the Etal group of Enap, RPC, Ferrostaal, RPC workers and the Europe-Chile business foundation.
