Peruvian environmental authorities approved a project to expand hydrocarbons seismic work in northern Piura region.
The junior operator has budgeted around US$10mn for the seven-month project.
Approval does not constitute the granting of other authorizations or permits that Olympic must secure, according to a resolution from the energy and mines ministry's energy environmental affairs office DGAAE.
DGAAE also is reviewing a US$700mn drilling program planned by Olympic on the acreage.
Block XIII covers 263,358ha and was the fifth largest natural gas producer in January with 244,435m3/d or 0.71% of the total in the month.
In a related note, hydrocarbons licensing authority Perupetro issued a fourth call to draft a proposal to implement a project for the national supervision system of remote hydrocarbons measuring.
