Eset grows 47% in Latin America during 2010

Slovakian antivirus and security software developer Eset grew 47% in Latin America during 2010 as it consolidated its presence and leadership in the market, according to a release from the company.

At the close of the first quarter of 2011 the company saw 55% growth in the end users segment in the region, Eset said without providing hard figures.

Globally, Eset was the company with the highest level of growth in computer security for the end user, according to a recent report from Gartner on the market share in the global security software industry during 2010.

According to the report, Eset grew 51.1% in 2010, almost four times the industry average for the period.

The global security market as a whole grew 13% during 2010 and posted US$16.6bn in sales volume, according to Gartner's findings.
