Colombia's ICT ministry has published the final specifications for a tender associated with the government intranet platform, according to a ministry press release.
As a part of the ministry's online government strategy, the project is for the integrated operation of the state intranet platform and its associated infrastructure and services. It will have a budget of 51.9bn pesos (US$27.6mn) and is being carried out through an agreement between the ICT ministry and Colombian state fund for project development Fonade.
The tender calls for services that include providing and administrating data centers to host public entities' IT systems and administering the citizen contact center, where Colombians can carry out state processes using email and internet, among other tools.
Additionally, the tender includes operating Colombia's high-speed state network, Ravec, and administrating and maintaining online government solutions.
According to ICT minister Diego Molano, the project's objective is achieving more efficiency in state services and using technology to bring Colombian state entities closer to citizens.
Proposals must be presented by March 31. The ministry then expects to award the contract on May 20, and it will span until December 2013.
