Miem opens project funding to develop IT companies outside capital

Uruguay's industry, energy and mining ministry (Miem) has called for applications from the ICT sector to set up or develop IT companies outside capital Montevideo.

Miem will award funding of up to 2mn pesos (US$108,000) for investment in hardware and software, intellectual property registration and HR training.

The funding is part of a government program for policies that look to introduce and/or strengthen production specialization.
