Latin American IT consultancy firm Neoris has tapped Juan Seoane as managing director for its SAP (NYSE: SAP) practice in the region, the company said in a statement.

Seoane has worked in Neoris since 2005, and has also held posts in HP (NYSE: HPQ) and IBM (NYSE: IBM).

The executive has a degree in computer sciences from Argentina's Universidad de Buenos Aires, as well as a graduate degree in management from the Universidad Católica Argentina.

Chilean IT industry association Acti added 21 member companies last year, the organization said in a release.

New additions include local firms such as IT security services provider NetSecure, as well as multinationals such as Chinese PC manufacturer Lenovo and US storage solutions supplier EMC (NYSE: EMC).


The Brazilian division of Netherlands-based digital security company Gemalto has launched a website to help local consumers navigate safely on the internet, Gemalto said in a statement.

The website contains information regarding topics such as internet security, online payment, password management, credit card fraud and identity theft.


Brazilian IT firm Softcorp has rolled out a new Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) SharePoint 2010 management solution, the company said in a statement.

Softcorp executive director Ricardo Giudice said the firm carried out its first successful implementation last November, and added that 10 deals are in the company's pipeline.
