SAP (NYSE: SAP) has named Diego Lozano as Southern Cone director, the company said in a statement.

Lozano entered SAP in 2009, when he took the reigns as general manager for Argentina. The executive previously worked in IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MOT).

Lozano holds a degree in mathematics from Universidad de Buenos Aires, as well as an MBA from Universidad del Salvador.

Swiss mobile software provider Sicap has cut the ribbon on an office in Brazil, the company said in a statement.

"As one of the top 10 telecommunications markets worldwide and with a recognized sophisticated banking system, Brazil is a natural place for... device management, loyalty and micropayment processing," said Yon Moreira da Silva Junior, Sicap's managing director for Brazil.

The company also has offices in Mexico.


Panama's Metrobank has agreed to acquire solutions from US software firm Accertify, the latter company said in a statement.

Metrobank will integrate Accertify's fraud prevention solution Interceptas, which will be made available to commercial firms, processors, card issuers and acquirers for both card-present and card-not-present transactions.


The Guyana government has opened an ICT center for sugar industry workers and their families, the government said in a statement.

The facility is the second of eight centers that will be opened in total.
