Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Spanish public key infrastructure developer (PKI) Safelayer Secure Communications will expand operations to Paraguay and Uruguay through a project to provide digital certification and PKI solutions, the company said in a statement.

The project awarded to Safelayer's partners, ISA and Bull Uruguay, is backed by Mercosur Digital for fostering e-commerce between Mercosur countries and the European Union.

ISA, with years of experience in digital signature and electronic document management projects, and Bull, which has know-how on large-scale PKI projects, will implement Paraguay's root certification authority and Uruguay's top-level certification authority. In Paraguay, ISA will work closely with IT distributor and service provider PS Line.

Both projects are set to start this year and are expected to be completed in 2012.
