US security firm Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC) saw its Americas revenues hit US$862mn during the third quarter of its 2011 fiscal year, ended December 31, according to financial results released by the company.
The figure represented 5% growth over the US$824mn posted during the same quarter of fiscal 2010. Symantec's Americas revenues accounted for 54% of the company's total for the quarter.
Symantec saw its net profits drop to US$132mn, compared with US$134mn during the previous quarter and US$301mn from the same quarter in the year-ago period. Revenues for the quarter went up 4% to US$1.6bn, from US$1.55bn.
Looking ahead, Symantec predicts year-over-year revenues to increase 4-5% during 4Q11, reaching US$1.59bn-1.61bn.
