3 bidding for US$340mn Panama wastewater contract
Panama's health ministry has received three bids to construct, operate and maintain a new module at the Juan Díaz wastewater treatment plant in capital Panama City (pictured).
The referential budget of US$342.5mn includes capex of US$146.9mn and opex of US$173.2mn, according to documents published on Panama's public procurement website, with the balance being tax.
Bids were submitted by Acciona PTAR Juan Díaz, Suez and OTV-Queiroz-Meco.
A fourth bid was from Chino PTAR Panama II, although that was not admitted by the evaluation committee as it was submitted late, according to the documents.
The plant forms part of the larger Panama City Bay cleanup program, which is being financed through loans from multilateral development banks including CAF, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, IDB, and the European Investment Bank.
