Brazil's Santa Catarina state utility Casan is preparing 29.3mn reais (US$17.1mn) in tenders for basic sanitation work in state capital Florianópolis and the town of Laguna, a company spokesperson told BNamericas.
In the state capital's Jurerê Tradicional coastal region, 11mn reais has been earmarked to build sewerage pipelines leading to the Canasvieiras wastewater treatment plant. Financing will come from national development bank (BNDES).
"A tender should be launched by year-end," the spokesperson said.
In Laguna, Casan is preparing a 18.3mn-real tender to expand the town's sewerage pipeline network and a wastewater treatment plant.
The two-part tender is due to launch once environmental permits have been approved. The pipeline work is estimated at 10.5mn reais and the treatment plant expansion at 7.8mn reais.
Finally, Casan is also awaiting environmental permits to start construction on a 10.9mn-real project to expand the pipeline network and wastewater treatment plant for Laguna's Magalhães neighborhood, the official said.
