Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state utility Corsan is planning to carry out waterworks and pavement repairs in the city of Taquara, the utility said in a release.
Mayor Delcio Hugentobler and Corsan president Arnaldo Dutra have met to discuss speeding up pavement work on roads where Corsan waterworks have taken place. The mayor also requested improvements to the city's water supply system, including installing 4km of new pipelines.
Many local residents currently obtain poor quality water from an artesian well, according to the release.
Located 72km northeast of state capital Porto Alegre, Taquara has a population of some 60,000.
