Minamb inks US$9.7mn agreement for Aragua landfill work

Venezuela's environment ministry (Minamb) has signed an agreement with local governments for a 41.7mn-bolívar (US$9.7mn) landfill project in the town of San Vicente in Girardot city, Aragua state.

The project will be carried out in two stages, the first requiring 11.7mn bolívares, and the second 30mn bolívares, state news agency AVN reported.

First-phase work involves cleaning up the existing open-air dump, while the second entails designing a new sanitary landfill, according to the report.
