The project to build the bus rapid transit (BRT) system will be divided into three stretches. The system will have a fleet of 67 vehicles – 55 articulating and 12 conventional buses – operating at an average speed of 25km/h. It will link with lines No. 11 and 12 and eventually with Corredor Leste (east corridor). With 26 stations in all, it will serve the cities of Arujá, Itaquaquecetuba, Poá and Ferraz de Vasconcelos, benefiting over 890,000 residents of São Paulo state. It is expected to serve about 47,000 passengers per day.
