Description

The project involves a concession to build and operate line No. 6 of the São Paulo metro system. Also known as the Laranja (orange) line, the subway will run between Brasilândia and São Joaquim stations, with a total of 15 stations: Brasilândia, Vila Cardoso, Itaberaba, João Paulo I, Freguesia do Ô, Santa Marina, Água Branca, SESC Pompéia, Perdizes, PUC-Cardoso de Almeida, Angélica/FAAP, Higienópolis-Mackenzie, 14 Bis, Bela Vista and São Joaquim. The project also includes building the Morro Grande metro yard. This will be the first line to be built and operated through a public-private partnership. It will connect with metro line No. 1 at Higienópolis-Mackenzie station and with line No. 4 at São Joaquim station, and with São Paulo metropolitan railroad (CPTM) lines No. 7 and No. 8 at Agua Branca station. Once completed, Line No.6 is expected to transport around 633,000 passengers a day.
