Description

The Tintaya-Socabaya project entails a 220kV, 207km transmission line, construction of a new substation and expansions at existing substations in southern Peru. Once operational, the line will strengthen the connection between the national grid's (SEIN) southeastern and southwestern systems, and help transport power from future hydro plants San Gabán (Puno) and Pucara (Cusco). Peru's state agency for promoting private investment ProInversión awarded consortium REI-AC Capitales - formed by Spain's Red Eléctrica Internacional (REI) and Peru's AC Capitales - the 30-year concession for the project.
