Natixis is a French corporate and investment bank that operates as the finance arm of Groupe BPCE, the second-largest banking player in France. Created from the merger of Natexis Banque Populaire (Banque Populaire group) and Ixis (Caisse d'Epargne group) in 2006, Natixis operates in retail banking, financing and investment banking, asset management, investment capital and private banking, and customer deposits. It has a presence in 38 countries worldwide. The company's platform in Latin America includes subsidiaries in Mexico and Brazil, as well as representative offices in Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Lima, besides consultants in Colombia and Chile. In April 2015, it opened a new asset management office in Uruguay aiming to strengthen its presence in the region. Natixis was founded in 2006 and is based in Paris.
