The Chilean unit of Spanish IT solutions provider Gesfor has extended its contract with Chilean pension fund manager AFP ING Santa María to maintain and upgrade its IT platform based on IBM (NYSE: IBM) technology, Gesfor said in a statement. Under the terms of the contract, Gesfor Chile is expected to improve the service level agreement (SLA) first established in the previous deal. During the first month of the new contract, Gesfor was able to surpass the initial SLA requested. The project is run by an ING team of 20 experts in the use of IBM's S/390 platform as well as engineers from Gesfor in charge of supporting the maintenance of business applications located in ING's mainframes. Gesfor Chile started operations in 1999 focusing on consultancy and training for local subsidiaries of Spanish companies. Headquartered in Madrid, Spain, the company has operations in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina and Chile. The company expects to see total sales of 66mn euros (US$84.5mn) in 2006, up 27% compared to the 52mn euros posted in 2005. The goal is for one third of 2006 revenues to come from overseas operations.
