Argentina opens 3 bids for Salado River widening works

Argentina’s public works ministry opened three bids for widening works on section 2 of the fourth stage of the Salado River project in Buenos Aires province.

But, in line with recent offers, they were significantly higher than the reference budget of 12.7bn pesos (US$86.3mn).

The tender is divided into sub-section A involving 4.12bn pesos and 8.79km, sub-section B, 3.7bn pesos and 10km, and sub-section C for 4.8bn pesos and 14.6km.

Offers were for all sub-sections and came from Chediack-Ecodyma (27.3bn pesos), Centro Construcciones (27.1bn pesos) and Dragados y Obras Portuarias (26.7bn pesos).

Stage 4 involves four sections, three of which are already in execution.

The entire project covers works along 212km, involving 36.6bn pesos. It is among 120 strategic water and infrastructure works of the US$6.5bn Argentina Grande program.
