The work is budgeted at some US$14mn. Bidding rules for the works contract were published in May, with technical and economic offers due July 14, the same day technical offers will be opened, while economic offers are scheduled to be opened July 21. The contract is slated to be awarded August 8. The housing ministry's housing and urbanization service Serviu is carrying out the first stage, which entails widening a stretch of the corridor for traditional traffic use. Also in June, Fesub published bidding rules to build the Nueva Prat Avenue and associated works budgeted at US$4.5mn. Offers are due August 13. The 1.8km, unidirectional avenue will run parallel to the existing avenue and have three lanes, one of which will be exclusively for buses.
