Brazil approves leasing plan for terminals at Paranaguá port

Brazilian port authority Antaq approved the leasing process for two terminals in Paranaguá port, in Paraná state. 

The auctions of the leasing contracts are estimated to generate a combined 656mn reais (US$130mn) for state port operator Portos do Paraná. 

Antaq approved the documentation for the auction of the PAR14 terminal, which handles and stores solid vegetable bulk, the regulator said in a press release.

PAR 14 has an extension of 51,000m2 and is expected to receive investments worth 50mn reais. 

The auction now needs the approval of the country's audit court (TCU) to proceed.

Meanwhile, Antaq approved the technical, economic and environmental feasibility study as well as a public consultation for the planned tender of the PAR15 terminal, which also handles and stores solid vegetable bulk.

PAR 15 has an extension of 40,000m2 and is expected to see investments of 606mn reais.
