Brazil watchdog considers permits for 30MW solar plants

Bnamericas
Brazil's power regulator Aneel has received permit applications for two 30MW solar plants in the northeastern state of Bahia. The Lagoa de Itaparica I and II facilities are located in the municipality of Gentio do Ouro, the watchdog said in a statement. Aneel did not reveal the name of the company to propose the projects. The plants would be Brazil's largest solar facilities, easily surpassing the 1.1MW Tanquinho generator operated by CPFL Energias Renováveis in São Paulo state. The agency also received applications for two wind farms totaling 50MW of installed capacity. The 26MW Pedra Cheirosa I and 24MW Pedra Cheirosa II plants are located in the municipality of Itarema, in the northeastern state of Ceará.
