Chile’s roads department launched a 29.3bn-peso (US$34mn) tender to rehabilitate a section of route 215-CH in Los Lagos region, which links to the border with Argentina.

The project entails repaving a 22.2km section between the Pajaritos customs complex and the Cardenal Samoré international pass (pictured), documents show.

Works also include replacing a 19m bridge with a 32m one and perform conservation works on a second 45m bridge.

Technical bids will be opened on March 3, while economic offers will be unveiled on March 17. Documents can be seen here, in Spanish.
