CNE grants definitive concessions to the Cotoperí Solar II and III Photovoltaic Parks

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (06/06/2023).- The Dominican State, through the National Energy Commission (CNE), granted two new definitive concessions for the installation of solar energy parks "Parque Fotovoltaico Cotoperí Solar II » and «Cotoperí Solar III Photovoltaic Park», as part of continuing with its policy of strengthening the sustainable development of the national electricity system.
The definitive concessions for the solar parks that will be located in the municipality of Guaymate, province of La Romana, were signed by Edward Veras, Executive Director of the CNE, and by Luzoraida Peralta Pérez, representing the company Cotoperí Solar FV, SRL.
Veras reported that the “Parque Fotovoltaico Cotoperí Solar II” and “Parque Fotovoltaico Cotoperí Solar III ” projects, both owned by the concessionaire Cotoperí Solar FV, SRL, will add some 96.12 megawatts of clean energy to the national electrical system.
During the signing of the concessions, Veras stressed that the authorities of President Abinader's government are committed to working transparently so that the Dominican Republic advances with firm steps towards an increasingly sustainable and clean future for all citizens.
Veras affirmed that the CNE has the firm commitment to continue with the strong and planned work to continue promoting the development of important renewable energy projects throughout the country, while urging national and international investors to maintain their confidence in the current authorities because their investments are guaranteed.
On her side, Luzoraida Peralta López, representative of the Cotoperí Solar FV company, during her words, thanked the facilities granted by the authorities during the process and reiterated the commitment to continue with their investments in favor of the national electricity sector and for an environment getting cleaner.
Project Data
The two photovoltaic solar projects are named: “Parque Fotovoltaico Cotoperí Solar II” and “Parque Fotovoltaico Cotoperí Solar III”, each one has a nominal capacity of 48.06 megawatts (48.06MWn).
Both projects were registered in the Production Installation Registry in the Special Electricity Regime.
