The national Government, headed by the National Infrastructure Agency- ANI, and the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, began the selection process that seeks firms interested in building the Avenida Longitudinal de Occidente- ALO SUR, a procedure that will be carried out through the abbreviated selection process. This project is part of the first wave of the Bicentennial Concessions.
“We have worked hard to make this project a reality, as we want to improve mobility conditions at the entrance to the city, in the southwestern sector of Bogotá. With this work we are simply going to improve the quality of life of citizens, ”said Angela María Orozco, Minister of Transportation.
Interested third parties may consult the state platform SECOP (https://bit.ly/2OhAvO1), the general documents of the process, as well as the technical annexes, financial appendices and specifications. Likewise, the technical studies will be enabled in the Data Room enabled on the Entity's page: www.ani.gov.co
“This work is an enormous relief from that infinite traffic jam that people suffer when entering and leaving Bogotá through Soacha. In ALO SUR, all Bogota citizens and Colombians who live here have invested billions of pesos of our taxes for more than 40 years. We are really going to achieve a definitive improvement of the southern access to the city with a road solution to the growing demand of users that will help decongest the existing corridors entering the city, ”said the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López.
For his part, the president of the National Infrastructure Agency, Manuel Felipe Gutiérrez, pointed out that: “This project becomes a relief for hundreds of citizens who asked for a work that would decongest the South Highway and the bottleneck that was generated. at the entrance to the city through the municipality of Soacha. With this corridor we generate equity and better connectivity for Colombians ”.
About ALO SUR
ALO SUR is part of the package of 15 Bicentennial Concessions that will be awarded in the Government of President Iván Duque. It is a Private Initiative PPP project, which has a length, from its origin-destination, of 23.5 km. The work will have an investment in Capex of $0.70 billion pesos (estimated figures as of June 2020).
Among the works contemplated is the construction of a new 19 km road, improvement of 4.5 km of existing road and the construction of a vehicular bridge in addition to the existing one between Canoas and El Muña. Likewise, the corridor contemplates the construction of 10km of cycle path and the generation of 153 thousand square meters of public space.
The director of the IDU, Diego Sánchez Fonseca, assures that “within the scope of the project is the construction, maintenance and operation of the new road corridor and the second two-lane carriageway, between the Canoas intersection in the municipality of Soacha and the intersection with Calle 13 in the Capital District. It should be remembered that this Calle 13 project is in the structuring stage through an agreement signed the previous year with the ANI and the ICCU ”.
The duration of Pre-Construction is estimated to last one year and its construction four. Within the structuring process, it is estimated that the first road will be operational in the third year of the project, counted from the signing of the concession contract, which will be for 30 years.
With the launch of this project, the national government contributes to the generation of 18,600 estimated direct, indirect and induced jobs.
Among the municipalities that will benefit the most from the implementation of ALO SUR are Sibaté, Soacha, Mosquera, as well as the towns of Bosa, Kennedy and Fontibón, in Bogotá.
