The Ecuadoran government plans to tender rehabilitation and maintenance works next year for the Balbanera-Pallatanga-Cumanda and Baeza-Narupa-Huataraco-Coca (E45).

The estimated investment for the works is US$70mn and the tender is planned for April, said deputy transport and public works minister Andres Pino at the Ecuador Infrastructure Summit, held in Quito.

Balbanera-Pallatanga-Cumanda will require an investment of around US$32mn and E45 will demand US$34mn, said Pino.

The inspection budget for Balbanera-Pallatanga-Cumandá is estimated at US$1.29mn and US$2.12mn in the case of E45, he said.

The roads have extensions of approximately 107km and 183km, respectively.

The rehabilitation works are expected to take 10-11 months and the maintenance works three to four years, said Pino.

Balbanera-Pallatanga-Cumandá is located in the country's central region and E-45 in the oil-producing Amazon region.
