El Salvador tenders works to expand San Salvador airport

The government of El Salvador has launched a tender to expand the passenger terminal at San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez international airport, which serves capital San Salvador.

The autonomous executive ports commission (CEPA) published the tender under the ID code DR-CAFTA-ADACA-UE CEPA-LA-21/2022 on the State procurement platform comprasal.gov.sv.

According to the details of the tender on the platform, the funds for the works will be provided by the government, although no estimated cost has been mentioned.

A tour of the construction site will be held on October 21 and queries may be submitted during a two-day period starting on October 25.

Proposals will be received on November 10 and opened on the same day. It is not stated when the announcement of the contract winner will be made.

The airport is the third most important in Central America in terms of passenger handling, at nearly 3.5mn per year.
