Enel Green Power connects Chile wind farm
Enel Green Power (EGP) connected its US$55mn, 24MW Los Buenos Aires wind farm in Chile's Biobío region to the country's central SIC power grid.
The project is supported by a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA), EGP said in a statement, and will generate 86GWh/y.
Los Buenos Aires brings EGP's total installed capacity in Chile to 709MW, comprising 364MW wind, 253MW PV solar and 92MW hydropower.

Non-conventional renewable energy (NCRE) supplied 10.21% of Chile's power generation in March, with output coming from solar (166GWh), wind (161GWh), bio-energy (biomass and biogas, 118GWh combined) and mini-hydro (plants under 20MW, 91GWh).
Environmental authority SEA admitted seven NCRE projects for evaluation in March totaling 934MW and requiring US$2.983bn in investments, according to the latest monthly report from state renewable energies center Cifes released on Thursday.
These projects comprise five PV solar, one mini-hydro and one CSP-PV solar hybrid plant.
Chile boasts 2,916MW of NCRE capacity in operation, 2,692MW in construction and 19,004MW with environmental approval secured.
