In order to commemorate the World Day of Access to Higher Education, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies revealed that it has benefited a total of 4,071 people with credits and forgivable scholarships in IT areas.
Since the beginning of the government of President Iván Duque, this investment in higher education has represented close to $ 12,000 million. Since 2011, when this strategy was established to support the training of people in areas related to information technology, the beneficiaries have reached 22,315.
In fact, the Subdirectorate for Digital Skills of the ICT Ministry and ICETEX have nine agreements in place designed to help reduce the human capital gap in IT-related skills.
To complement this, Misión TIC 2022 was also developed, a program that seeks to train Colombians in programming, an initiative that so far has graduated 2,676 programmers: 946 from Route 1 (10th and 11th grade students) and 1,730 Route 2 (high school graduates over 15 years old); 47,644 are in the process of formation. There are currently 50,000 spots available.
