During this month, it is noteworthy that the regions with the greatest increase in demand In relation to the same month of the previous year, they were Oriente with 7.83% and Guaviare with 5.47%.

The growth in national demand for October 2022 compared to October 2021 was impacted by the decrease in consumption in four regions of the country: Caribbean -3.56%, Chocó -3.29%, Valle -0.76% and THC (Tolima, Huila, Caquetá) -0.35%. This decrease, according to the reports of the operators of the zones, is mainly due to climatic factors associated with variations in temperature and the rainy season. In addition to the entry of several solar generation projects in homes and industry, which affects the decrease in demand.

For its part, the total energy demand of our country accumulated in the first ten months of 2022 has a growth of 4.01% compared to the same period of 2021.

Among the economic activities with the highest growth in energy demand in the month of October compared to the same month of 2021, the following stand out: exploitation of mines and quarries with an increase of 18.74% and agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry and fishing with 7.76%” reported Jaime Alejandro Zapata Uribe, manager of the XM National Dispatch Center.
