Mexican construction prices up for 21 consecutive months
Although price increases of construction goods and services in Mexico registered a slight slowdown in October, the category continues on a negative trajectory.
According to statistics office Inegi's latest producer price index report published Wednesday, the construction category registered a year-to-year increase of 11.14%, the 21st consecutive month of rises.
In October 2021 and 2020, the increase was 15.24% and 3.50%, respectively.
Since the pandemic, distribution chains in the construction sector have been disrupted, hitting construction materials such as steel, aluminum and copper, leading to higher prices.
