NGEx Resources raised Cdn$12.5mn (US$10.0mn) in a non-brokered private placement, net proceeds from which will be used for ongoing work programs in Chile and Argentina as well as general corporate purposes.

The Vancouver-based junior is focused on advancing the Los Helados and Josemaría copper projects in Chile and Argentina, respectively.

Unigold, which has the Neita gold-copper project in the Dominican Republic, appointed Normand Tremblay, the company's major shareholder, to its board of directors.

The company also said it is waiting to hear from the Dominican Republic's energy and mines ministry regarding the granting of the Neita Fase II exploration concession.


Duran Ventures announced an option agreement on its Minasnioc gold-silver project in Peru with IAMGOLD.

Under the deal, IAMGOLD has the right to earn a 60% interest in the property.
