Norberto Odebrecht-Tecnimont wins Dominican power plant contract

A consortium composed of Norberto Odebrecht, Tecnimont and Enginiera Estrella won the contract to build two 385MW coal-fired power plants in the Dominican Republic, according to a release by state power holding CDEEE.

The consortium, which was the only entity to qualify after the first round of bidding, received a total score of 97.19 out of 100 for its proposal over the two rounds of the international tender.

US firm Stanley Consultants adjudicated the first round, in which technical bids were submitted, while BNP Paribas, Deloitte and local entity Fundación Economía y Desarrollo adjudicated the second round, for economic proposals.
