Oi heavily indebted with public banks
Telecoms operator Oi owes Brazil's public banks 9.8bn reais (US$2.884bn).

According to local media, the money Oi owes to public banks makes up 15% of its total debt of 65.4bn reais. When also considering the 10.07bn it owes telecom regulator Anatel, government institutions account for 30% of the company's total debt.
Among Oi's creditors, which are listed on more than 380 pages, is private Brazilian bank Itaú BBA, which is owed 1.5bn reais.
Foreign banks are also on the list, including Nordic Investment Bank, which is owed 107mn reais, and French banks BNP Paribas and Crédit Agricole, owed 1.13bn and 802mn, respectively. Bondholders represented by Citi and Bank of New York Mellon are also on the creditors list for 33.9bn reais.
