Paraguay’s Petropar envisions cross-border storage infra

Paraguay’s state oil company Petropar is looking at the possible installation of fuel storage in Argentina and Uruguay.
Petropar head Denis Lichi provided the information during a presentation of the company’s 2023 budget proposal before the bicameral budget committee.
Lichi announced the preparation of prefeasibility, feasibility and basic design studies for the infrastructure, the lower house reported in a release.
Petropar previously met with its Argentine and Uruguayan equivalents, YPF and Ancap, to discuss cross-border initiatives, as well as Paraguay’s port authority ANNP to review projects in Uruguay.
The state operator’s 2023 budget proposal reaches 7.35tn guaraníes (US$1.06bn), up 2.02tn guaraníes from this year.
Petropar’s plans for next year also include improving domestic storage plants, launching its own brand of gas in cylinders and the company’s own lubricants line, and advancing the overhaul of the Mauricio José Troche biofuel plant.
Regarding LPG, the company aims to have 140 filling points at its service stations, up from 104, with a sales projection of 1,532m3/month.
In addition, Petropar has set a target of having 304 service stations in 2023 and the sale of 605Ml for the year. Currently there are 235 stations with the Petropar brand and the company owns seven of them.
