Peru energy watch: Service call draws international crowd

Over a dozen firms have expressed interest in Peruvian state oil company Petroperú’s call for bids to review and validate the detailed engineering for the new US$48.6mn Ilo fuel terminal.

The potential bidders include Ademinsa, Bureau Veritas, Consultoría Energética & Ambiental, EPCMASTER Engineering Services, GMI Ingenieros Consultores, Idetec, Industrial Consulting, Ingeniería Cardón, Inspectra, JIR Ingenieros, Sacyr Fluor, Tecna and TÜV Rheinland.

Offers are due in the coming days.

On the upstream front, PetroTal subsidiary Petrolifera Petroleum del Perú submitted the citizen participation plan (PPC) for the build-out of onshore block 107 to the environmental certification service for sustainable investments (Senace).

The project entails the incorporation of the Constitución Sur location into a previously approved environmental impact study which covers the drilling of up to six exploration and six confirmation wells.

Constitución Sur envisions the drilling of one exploration, three confirmation and one injector wells.

Consultancy company ERM prepared the PPC which proposes holding two participatory workshop rounds and a public hearing.

And in the power sector, the energy and mines ministry granted Anglo American Quellaveco a definitive concession for the 220kV Moquegua-Papujune transmission line in the southern region of Moquegua.

The miner requested the concession for the 37.6km link in October. The project includes the expansion of the Moquegua substation and the new Papujune substation.
